Koraippu Patterns 1.0 [free]

Carnatic Musicians (e.g. vocalist, instrumental artistes) use koraippu (reduction) phrases during swara kalpana section of a main song to embellish the raaga, to demonstrate the crescendo of the neraval and finish with a korvai in the end. Percussion artistes (mridangam / kanjira / ghatam / morsing) use koraippu patterns during thani avarthanam section to change from individual playing to group performance. This app provides a way of generating various koraippu (reduction) patterns given a number (e.g. 56 / 28 / 14 for mishra koraippu). The app takes a number as an input and generates several patterns that can be creatively used by musicians to render patterns for the given "aas" number. This app is very useful for semi-advanced to advanced carnatic music performers and students. The Koraippu patterns in this app were generated by my guru - Shri: Kalaimamani Guruvayur Dorai and his senior students - Shri: S.V. Ramani and Uzhavoor PK Babu.
